THE UNCLE FLOYD SHOW. [5-15-07]

P5150087.JPG

Yes, I’m going to post a lot of photos of Cliff, because, quite honestly, otherwise absolutely nothing else happened at Shea tonight that is worth discussing. So feel free to skip this post if you don’t want to see the Uncle Floyd Show.

[more, including photos, after the jump]

Cliff signs autographs from the photographer’s pit. Not from behind the dugout, not from the field, Cliff walks into the photo pit like he owns it and starts signing.

Cliff making the rest of the Cubs look like Hobbits.

And finally:

Cliff and the rest of the Cubs beating the hell out of the Mets.

OVERHEARD LEAVING SHEA TONIGHT:
“But Mom, I thought John Maine was a good pitcher.”
“Not tonight.”

I like how in the picture of Floyd signing autographs, the two security guys are looking down like “How’d he get in there?” “Did he just walk in?” “Can he Do that?”

Great pics!  And that game certainly wasn’t anything to writehome about.

I never consider myself the kind of fan who bails when things are looking bad, but we left in the 6th inning. Right as the grand slam landed. It was ugly. Plus, it was so windy that the folks in the level below us got more of my popcorn than I did.

The wind was blowing crap in my eyes, and somehow, when the wind kicks up at Shea is when I end up sick the next day. If we had been in the upper deck we would have likely left.

Or at least moved down a level.
