CREATIVE USES FOR HELMET SUNDAE HELMETS.

[I am on vacation, somewhere I cannot see what the Mets are doing in real time, which is the reason for these types of evergreen posts. I’ll be back just in time to welcome the Cubs to Our New World Class Home.]

Thanks to the wonder that is Twitter, I gathered these responses a few weeks back:

Minimouz: “I try and make my cats wear the sundae helmets!”

bigleaguestew: “I bring ‘em on long walks w/ the dog so she can have a drink at water fountains.”

VitaminCM: “Sundae helmets make great every day china if you are a bachelor”

“I use mine for lip balm and lip gloss. Chapped lips are no fun. Oh, and the little baseball in there is lip balm too.—k bro

ms_tinamarie: “I use my helmets to store jewelry, not so creative, but useful”

kranepool: “sundee helmets good for paper clips holder, head gear for small stuffed animals, water bowl for cat, meassuring cup for soap pwdr”

Texas_Gal:“Paper clip storage on my desk. Tealight holder for the back deck.”

maggie162:“Wedding centerpieces. Srsly.”

(leachea_79: “I want to divorce and re-marry so we can use sundae helmets as wedding centerpieces.”)

We used ours as cat food scoops. And I tried to make the cat wear it once. (As documented at the top of the page.)

Your turn.

Well, it started out as a frog on the wall.

Then the scarf from the Christmas doll, and the extra key to the old car, and eventually this got added:

Is that a Met helmet? Of course it is. After all, we’ve been visited with every other Exodus plague this year, so why not frogs?

Ok, this has nothing to do with using Sundae helmets, but what do you think about Wright playing again today.

It seems to me the team has done everything correctly, and that he is ready to go. I like that they immediately put him on the DL so as to have a couple of weeks to make sure they thought it through.

All that said, I am cheering for low and outside pitches for the rest of the season ....

I know there is this tradition on the internets of using blog comments as a message board to talk about anything related to the Mets. Could we please not do that here?  Thanks.
