CHICO AND THE MAN.

image

Praise the baseball deities. It’s down to tomorrow. See you there. Sunday in the Upper Deck. Seems right and fitting, no matter how it plays out.

Hey MG, I’ll be in my Sunday plan seats, upper box 712.  You?  Tomorrow’s a magical day.  I can feel it.  *fingers crossed*

Not going to be there, alas.  Frankly, I may not even watch, because when I watch, bad things happen.  John Maine gave up the hit right after we turned the game on this afternoon.

I don’t even dare hope anymore.  Here’s why.

we’re in UR section 1, row P. yes, that was best available.we’re getting there early, so i can wander around and get some crowd shots.

Today is the day!!! They are going to do it!!! (And Philly won’t) I tried to go online for seats yesterday… sold out :-( Then a friend of my son’s called him late last night and has an extra field level seat, so he’s going, and that’s good enough for me… He cheers loud enough for both of us.

Everyone who is lucky enough to be going today: stick with them!!! Even if it doesn’t look good early, don’t give up—they NEED you!!!! Cheer loud, cheer often… bring it home!!!!

GO METS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least you tried as hard as you could!  I couldn’t even root for the Nationals today; I wouldn’t have wanted them to back into a playoff after today’s performance.  Ack.

Wow. I almost wish you hadn’t gone—hope you’re holding up ok.

I agree, Scott—it was either win today or go home.  No back doors.  There is absolutely no excuse for going back to the second half of September after yesterday’s game.

Bottom line:  These guys didn’t deserve to go to the postseason—least of all Jose Reyes.  That kid needs an attitude adjustment.

I hate to agree with Chris Russo on anything, but on this I agree:  For a 40-year-old pitcher with crunch time experience to say “You learn from it and move on” is not what Mets fans want to hear today.  When you’re a 25-year-old rookie that’s what you say.  It almost seems that Glavine was TRYING to pitch his way out of town.

I think he got the attitude adjustment after being booed for the first time in his Mets career over the last couple of days. I am torn on the booing thing.

Glavine, however, inexcusible.

Also inexcusible: the players not having the cajones to stand on the top step of the dugout for the last half-inning. Be a man.
